Wisconsin public power utility Manitowoc Public Utilities has created an Academy for its employees that focuses on succession planning and employee development.
The inaugural class kicked off in early 2025 and graduated this month. This seven-session program is a combination of leadership lessons taught by a leadership coach and organization-specific sessions taught by MPU leaders and subject matter experts.
It’s an application-based program offered on an annual basis for a limited number of employees.
“The MPU Academy creates an intentional focus on employee culture through the professional development of employees. We are excited for this new era at MPU,” said Troy Adams, CEO and General Manager at the utility.
“Our inaugural MPU Academy graduates did not disappoint; it has been amazing to see how they have grown as leaders both at work and in our community,” he said.
