The American Public Power Association on Nov. 2 filed comments on the Environmental Protection Agency’s supplemental proposal to rescind all greenhouse gas emission standards for fossil fuel fired electric generating units.
APPA’s comments asked the agency to address immediate compliance concerns for combustion turbine standards while resolving the legal foundations of greenhouse gas regulation under Clean Air Act section 111.
The Association emphasized that achievable standards and durable regulatory certainty are necessary for public power utilities to expand generation and maintain reliable, affordable service.
