The Delaware Municipal Electric Corporation's Lineworker Training Program recently received the American Municipal Power Employee Engagement and Workforce Advancement Award.
The award recognizes investment in employee training, apprentice programs, and professional development to build the next generation of public power professionals.
Through shared training resources and hands-on instruction, DEMEC's Department of Labor certified apprentice program provides member communities with over 60% cost savings and a local training yard for lineworkers to build confidence safely and further their career.
“DEMEC’s Lineworker Training Program helps our members develop skilled employees who support safe, reliable electric service. We are pleased to receive AMP’s Employee Engagement and Workforce Advancement Award in recognition of this investment in our public power workforce,” said Kimberly Schlichting, DEMEC President & CEO.
