MEAG Power has issued an All-Source Request for Proposals to seek additional generation resources for its portfolio to ensure the reliable supply of electricity to its participant public power communities.
MEAG Power is seeking a total of 550 MW of additional firm capacity resources, delivered in two phases: (1) up to 200 MW online by summer 2029 and (2) the remaining 350 MW online incrementally between 2029 and summer 2032.
The RFP notes that MEAG Power will consider resources that can provide a minimum of 25 MW of nameplate capacity. MEAG Power will consider proposals for firm capacity provided by eligible resources, including, but not limited to, solar, solar paired with energy storage, fuel cells, grid-charged energy storage, natural gas combined cycle, natural gas simple cycle combustion turbines, and reciprocating engines. Respondents should provide pricing for 4-hour and 8-hour configurations if the project includes storage.
MEAG Power’s summer peak need is from June through September during hours ending 1300 through 2000 (Eastern Prevailing Time). Detailed descriptions of requested proposals are included in the RFP.
MEAG Power prefers resources that offer dispatch flexibility, as they provide the greatest value.
Proposals are due Nov. 6, 2026.
