The Southwest Power Pool issued a Conservative Operations Advisory for the West Balancing Authority (BA) area, effective July 20, at 11:00 a.m. CT until an anticipated end time of July 21, at 12:00 a.m. CT.
Conservative Operations Advisories are considered stable operating conditions and do not require the public to conserve energy or take any action but are issued to raise awareness of potential threats to reliability among entities responsible for operating transmission and generation facilities, SPP said.
SPP’s East BA area is under a Resource Advisory (normal operating conditions) through an anticipated end time of Tuesday, July 21, at 12:00 a.m. CT.
The advisories were declared due to the potential of high peak loads, potential low output from wind and other variable energy resources leading into peak hours, and a possible increase in resource outages.
Additional details are available on SPP's website.
