The Department of Energy is hosting a Liberty Eclipse 2026 Training Week event focused on public power utilities and electric cooperatives later this year on the Liberty Eclipse Testbed Environment located in New York.
The deadline to register for the training is August 3.
“This unique experience leverages a full-scale grid defense and operational training program designed to assist electric utilities in building resiliency, by experiencing real adversarial attacks (via cyber-means), leveraging real world tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs). It's hands-on training that gives operators, engineers, and security staff a chance to practice coordination and decision-making in a way that classroom training simply can't replicate,” DOE said.
The training has been specifically designed with municipal and cooperative utilities in mind. The focus is on practical tools, resources, and training, especially for utilities that support critical facilities, defense installations, or national security missions.
Officials with public power utilities in 2025 detailed how they benefited from participating in the Liberty Eclipse Full-Scale Exercise.
