Starting in June, customers of Florida public power utility JEA will see a lower fuel charge on their monthly electric bill.

The monthly fuel rate will decrease by $14.74 per 1,000 kilowatt hours from its 2026 peak of $59.68 in March.

JEA fuel rates increased after the severe cold snap in early February, when near-record peak power demand drove up natural gas prices.

JEA expects fuel prices per 1,000 kilowatt hours to remain in the low $40s through the summer, barring significant changes in weather conditions or energy markets.
