The California Independent System Operator recently announced the selection of Viridon to implement the Manning–Metcalf project.
The project comprises an approximately 86-mile, 500 kV transmission line connecting the Greater Bay Area and the Central Valley, which the Viridon team will finance, construct, own, operate and maintain.
“This new high-voltage infrastructure will strengthen the region’s grid reliability, help meet growing electricity demand, and support the integration of new energy sources,” Viridion said.
"We are honored by CAISO’s selection of Viridon for this critical reliability project,” said Fanny Kidwell Langlois, president of Viridon California. “We look forward to the continued partnership with California state agencies, local communities and other key stakeholders as we work together towards building the grid to serve California’s electrified future.”
