California public power utility Silicon Valley Power announced the appointment of Chris Karwick as Chief Operating Officer following an extensive nationwide search.
Karwick "has been a valued member of SVP since 2017 and has held several key leadership roles, including Division Manager of Generation, Assistant Director of Utility Operations, and Assistant Director of Customer Development and Project Management. Throughout his tenure, he has led critical initiatives, supported major infrastructure projects, and helped strengthen operations across the utility," SVP said.
With more than 25 years of experience in the energy industry, he "brings deep technical expertise, strong leadership, and a strong understanding of SVP’s operations and strategic priorities. His leadership over the past year has demonstrated his ability to guide the organization and deliver results," the utility noted.
In his role as Chief Operating Officer, Karwick will oversee utility operations and focus on strengthening system reliability, advancing key infrastructure projects, and supporting SVP’s continued growth.
He will also play a key role in driving operational efficiency and ensuring SVP remains well-positioned to meet the evolving needs of the community.
The appointment "reflects SVP’s continued commitment to operational excellence and delivering safe, reliable, and cost-effective service to Santa Clara," SVP said.
