WPPI Energy has been named number one Top Workplace in the greater Madison, Wisconsin, area for the third consecutive year, earning the ranking among midsize employers.

This recognition is awarded by the Wisconsin State Journal as part of its Top Workplaces program.

The designation is based entirely on employee feedback collected through an anonymous, third-party survey administered by Energage. The survey measures key aspects of workplace culture, including alignment, execution and connection, and benchmarks results against peer organizations in the region.

“This recognition is gratifying and reflects the strong engagement of our staff and their shared commitment to serving WPPI member utilities,” said Mike Peters, president and CEO.

In addition to first place, WPPI received a special Managers Award. The survey asked employees to rate their agreement with statements including “My manager helps me learn and grow” and “My manager cares about my concerns.” WPPI’s scores were the highest among participating midsize employers.

Employees also shared comments in the survey reflecting strong engagement and a commitment to staying with the organization.

“It is nice to work for a company that truly appreciates its employees,” said one employee in the anonymous survey.

Another said, “I love my job because I get to make a difference daily.”

Many pointed to their colleagues as a positive influence, noting that “the people are a pleasure to work with” and that it is uplifting to “feel like you’re making a difference.”

WPPI said it will continue building on this feedback, focusing on strengthening leadership, supporting employee development and maintaining a positive workplace culture.
