Fort Pierce Utilities Authority, a Florida public power utility, has received the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for FPUA’s Annual Comprehensive Financial Report for the fiscal year ended September 30, 2024.
The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting and is awarded to organizations that meet the standards for transparency, accuracy, and full disclosure.
The Government Finance Officers Association established the Certificate of Achievement program in 1945 to encourage state and local governments to go beyond the minimum requirements of generally accepted accounting principles and to clearly communicate their financial position to the public. FPUA’s report was recognized for effectively presenting our financial story.
“This recognition reflects the dedication and professionalism of our Finance Department and the organization as a whole,” said Michele Harris, Chief Financial Officer at FPUA. “It demonstrates our continued commitment to transparency, accountability, and sound financial stewardship on behalf of our customers and the community we serve.”
