The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) recently presented Northern California Power Agency General Manager Randy Howard with a letter of appreciation recognizing his long, impactful career of service in public power.
The letter highlighted Howard’s leadership as Co-Chair of the Electricity Subsector Coordinating Council (ESCC) Wildfire Working Group, and his contributions on behalf of public power on the Western Energy Imbalance Market Nominating Committee, on the Launch Committee for the West-Wide Governance Pathways Initiative, and as a board member of the California Municipal Utilities Association.
The letter noted, “Your vision for innovation, coupled with a profound respect for the members and communities you served, has left an indelible mark and a legacy upon which we will continue to build. Your integrity and dedication to serving our communities have consistently shone through in all your endeavors.”
Howard will retire as General Manager of NCPA in 2026.
