The American Public Power Association is seeking nominations to fill two vacant seats due to the resignation of Travis “Bear” Prairie, Idaho Falls Power, Idaho, Region 9, and the election of Dan Beans, Roseville Electric Utility, California, Region 6, to Vice Chair of the APPA Board of Directors.
APPA is inviting the nomination of candidates for the open Board seat in Region 6 (Arizona, California, Nevada), and the open Board seat in Region 9 (Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington).

The Nominating Committee will meet virtually in September 2025 to consider nominations for the vacant Board seats. The Committee's recommendation for the new Board members will be presented to the association's Board of Directors at its fall meeting held in October 2025.
In addition to the nomination form, the guidelines used by members of the Nominating Committee in the evaluation of candidates are also provided here.
While the Board has endorsed these guidelines, the Board expects the members of the Nominating Committee to exercise their discretion and judgment in recommending candidates who will best serve the interests of the association. A chart is also posted here that lists Board members who will continue on the Board and those who’s seats are vacant.
