Northeast Power - Request for Power Supply Proposals

Northeast Power is issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP) seeking services to meet all or a portion of its load requirements associated with its retail and irrigation loads beginning June 1, 2027. Northeast Power is a customer-owned utility and a political subdivision of the State of Nebraska with a mission to serve its community by providing reliable and competitively priced electricity while maintaining a sound financial position and effective, fair, and consistent service.
Northeast Power may award contracts to a single supplier, or multiple suppliers whose proposals work in combination to serve future capacity and energy requirements. As outlined in the RFP, Northeast Power is requesting competitive proposals for the following types of power supply;
1. Full Requirements Service; or
2. Market Participation Support consisting of one or more of the following types of products:
a. Firm Capacity and Deliverable Capacity
b. Energy only, load following arrangements,
c. Energy only, shaped block products,
d. Market Participation/Energy Management Services.
Northeast Power intends to evaluate proposals based on their ability to meet Northeast Power’s expected need for economical and reliable power supply in the manner that is most advantageous to Northeast Power and its customers and complies with applicable law.
Potential respondents can request the RFP and other information by contacting Northeast Power’s consultant, GDS Associates, Inc. Northeast Power welcomes all interested Respondents to submit a proposal as per the submission instructions in the RFP document by 4:00PM CDT, August 30, 2024.
