2020 Public Power Lineworkers Rodeo Planning Meeting

It's time to start planning the 2020 Public Power Lineworkers Rodeo in Kansas City, Kansas. In preparation for this annual event, the Association will host its planning meeting at our offices located in Arlington, VA on September 10, 2019. Meeting attendees will draft event descriptions, choose chief and master judges, and discuss logistics for the 2020 Lineworkers Rodeo. All field supervisors, lineworkers, past judges, competitors, and any other utility members are invited to participate.

The cut-off date to receive the group rate (plus tax) is Thursday, August 15, 2019. If rooms remain in the block after the cut-off date, the group rate will be honored. If not, you may be charged a higher rate. The room block may sell out prior to August 15th, so early reservations are encouraged. Event pictures will updated once the Rodeo grounds are built. It is also possible that event descriptions and specs may be updated as well. Notification of modifications will be listed here for your convenience. 

What class of rubber gloves is required?

  • Class 2 rubber gloves.

What are the rules on long cuff leather gloves for ground hands during rodeo events?

  • The rule has been relaxed by removing the verbiage that required a specific length of gauntlet on the work gloves. The general rule states that work gloves must be worn while working on the ground and/or any event where rubber gloves are not required. See General Rules #3, #18and 2 Point Deductions #21 and #22.
