Wisconsin Public Power Utilities Recognized for Safety Achievements

Thirty-nine of Wisconsin's public power utilities were recognized for their outstanding safety achievements from Municipal Electric Utilities of Wisconsin.

Each utility received an award in recognition of its commitment and dedication to establishing a strong safety culture. The awards were presented on May 11 at the association's 93rd Annual Conference in Green Bay.

Utilities are placed into categories based on the total number of hours worked, receiving recognition based on the most incident-free records.

The incidence rate used to evaluate utilities is based on the number of work related recordable injuries or illnesses, compared to the total number of worker-hours during 2022, as defined by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
