Tom Heller To Retire As President and CEO of Missouri River Energy Services

Tom Heller, President and CEO of Missouri River Energy Services (MRES), recently announced his retirement effective June 30, 2023.

Heller joined the organization in 1992 as its fourth CEO since 1965 when MRES officially began. Before that, he was general manager of Moorhead (Minnesota) Public Service and served on the MRES and Western Minnesota Municipal Power Agency boards of directors.

The MRES board hired MyCoff Fry Partners, a utility industry executive search firm, to help find Heller’s replacement.

The new president and CEO is expected to start prior to the organization’s Annual Meeting in May 2023.

Additional information about Heller’s retirement and career in public power will be made available closer to his retirement date, MRES said.
