Theresa Slominski has been promoted to be general manager of Elk River Municipal Utilities, the Elk River Municipal Utilities (ERMU) Commission said on Sept. 9.
She replaces Troy Adams, who recently departed the Minnesota public power utility after serving as general manager for the last 11 years to become general manager of Wisconsin’s Manitowoc Public Utilities Commission.
Slominski joined ERMU in 2004 as an accounts payable and payroll specialist. She was subsequently promoted to finance and office manager in 2005 and administrations director in 2019.
“Theresa brings solid municipal utility leadership experience and has the respect of the Commission and her peers,” said ERMU Commission Chair John Dietz in a news release. “The Commission has always felt strongly about promoting from within, and Theresa was a natural fit for the position.”
ERMU is a municipal electric and water utility serving Elk River and areas of Otsego, Dayton, and Big Lake Township.
