Jennifer Granholm was sworn in as the 16th Secretary of Energy on Feb. 25, 2021.
Joy Ditto, President and CEO of the American Public Power Association, congratulated Granholm in a tweet, saying that the public power community “looks forward to working with you!”
Prior to her nomination as Secretary of Energy, Granholm served two terms as Governor of Michigan from 2003 to 2011.
In a Q&A with the Washington Post, Granholm discussed a wide range of energy-related topics including the recent power outages in Texas, microgrids and small modular reactors.
In an interview with National Public Radio, she discussed the Texas outages, as well as carbon emissions reductions.
