FERC Commissioner McNamee’s last day at Commission will be Sept. 4

Federal Energy Regulatory Commissioner Bernard McNamee’s last day at FERC will be September 4, 2020, he said last week.

McNamee said earlier this year that he would not seek another term on the Commission after his term expired on June 30, 2020.  He is permitted to remain a commissioner until a successor is confirmed or the end of the current Congress.

President Trump recently nominated Virginia utility regulator Mark Christie and energy consultant Allison Clements to be FERC commissioners, but the Senate has not yet acted on the nominations.

Absent confirmation and swearing in of the new commissioners by September 4 McNamee’s departure would leave FERC with only three commissioners: Chairman Neil Chatterjee, Commissioner Richard Glick, and Commissioner James Danly.
