East Point Power nears completion of advanced metering infrastructure installation

Georgia’s East Point Power is nearing completion of installing advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) meters for residents and commercial establishments in the City of East Point.

So far, 7,800 meters have been installed, with 6,600 meters left to install. The public power utility has been working on this project with Tantalus since 2017 and expects to be finished with installation in January 2021.

“We are excited about providing this technology to residents for them to view their usage in real time and for our staff to restore power more efficiently,” said Shannon Wiggins, Public Information Officer for East Point.
