Economic development topics to be featured at Customer Connections Conference in October

APPA’s 2014 Customer Connections Conference, Oct. 26-29, at the Hyatt Regency Riverfront hotel in Jacksonville, Fla., will feature a full track of sessions devoted to economic development topics.

Conference economic development topics will include:
•    Building a Culture for Economic Development at Your Utility
•    Practical Marketing Tips from a Site Selection Insider
•    How Distributed Generation Can Be the Key to Keeping and Attracting Key Accounts
•    Anatomy of a Deal: Site Selection Case Study
•    Leveraging Higher Education Assets for Economic Development
•    Site Selection Panel: Business Trends 2014

These sessions are designed for local elected officials, city managers, and utility, city and regional economic development and marketing specialists interested in economic and community development. This event is recognized by the International Economic Development Council as a professional development event that counts toward the recertification of Certified Economic Developers. In addition to these sessions, the Customer Connections Conference offers tracks on key accounts, public communications, energy services and customer service topics, as well as roundtable discussions, networking breakfasts, receptions, and other opportunities to share ideas and information.

Conference fees are $645 for APPA members and $1,290 for nonmembers who register before Oct. 6. 

Three pre-conference seminars will also be offered on change management; customer engagement for advanced grid technologies; and developing and marketing web and social media content.
