On Tuesday, July 8, APPA will hold a webinar on, "Utility Collections; The Complete Process," from 2 to 3:30 p.m., Eastern time. This is the last in a series of four customer service webinars.
This webinar will focus on analyzing the structure and operations of utility credit and collections, highlighting examples of how utilities manage credit risk. The instructor also will review customer-focused approaches for residential, commercial and industrial accounts and credit management policies. The importance of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and identifying your KPIs will be discussed. In addition, the instructor will highlight some of the findings from the 2013 Customer Service Policies Survey conducted by APPA.
Then, on Wednesday, July 9, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Eastern time, APPA will hold a webinar, "Understanding and Working with the APPA Pole Attachment Rate Calculator." This is the second in a series of two webinars focused on APPA’s new Pole Attachment Workbook.

The 2014 APPA Pole Attachment Workbook includes a new model agreement, rate calculator and new engineering processes and diagrams. The workbook addresses significant recent changes in the federal pole attachment rules and new developments in the field during the last decade, particularly involving wireless attachments. In this webinar, Jim Baller and Sean Stokes of the Baller Herbst Law Group and Tom Unke with Baker Tilly will focus on the application and use of the Workbook’s rate calculator. The session will provide an overview and analysis of the FCC’s revised rate calculation methodologies; the various alternatives that the rate calculator makes available to public power utilities; and the mechanics of using the rate calculator. The webinar is intended to help utilities understand how to utilize the rate calculator and its various options.
Each webinar is worth 0.2 continuing education units, 1.5 professional development hours and 1.5 continuing professional education credits.
