Customer Connections Conference set for Jacksonville, Fla.

Registration is now open for the 2014 Customer Connections Conference, APPA’s annual conference for utility professionals working in public communications, customer service, energy services, key accounts and economic development. The conference will be held Oct. 26-29 in Jacksonville, Fla., at the Hyatt Regency Riverfront hotel. 
The conference features 40 sessions, including: 

•    Lowering the Red Flag: Thriving Under the FACT Act
•    Collections, Disconnections and Bad Debt
•    Hiring, Training and Motivating CSRs to Deliver Service Excellence
•    Practical Marketing Tips from a Site Selection Insider
•    Site Selection Panel: Business Trends 2014 
•    Leveraging Higher Education Assets for Economic Development
•    Comprehensive Communication with Key Accounts
•    How Outside Influences on the Utility Will Impact Your Key Accounts
•    How Distributed Generation Can Be the Key to Keeping and Attracting Key Accounts
•    Solar Engagement for Public Power 
•    Emerging Applications of Energy Storage and Batteries
•    Charging Ahead with Electric Vehicles
•    Crisis War Stories and Lessons Learned
•    Surviving the Information Avalanche
•    Creating and Using Compelling Visual Communications

In addition to these sessions, the conference features roundtable discussions, networking breakfasts, receptions and other opportunities for networking and information exchange. Attendees will also have an opportunity to attend in-depth pre-conference seminars, including:

•    Managing Change: Creating a Playbook for Utility Success
•    New Media Boot Camp: Generating and Marketing Content for Social Media
•    Customer Engagement for Advanced Grid Technologies

Conference fees are $645 for APPA members and $1,290 for nonmembers who register before Oct. 6. Pre-conference seminars require a separate registration fee.
