Joseph "Jay" Stowe Larry Holloway Jerry Pita, Jr.

Joseph "Jay" Stowe has been promoted to president and chief executive officer of Huntsville Utilities in Alabama. He succeeds William C. Pippin, who retired. Stowe joined the utility in 2005 as vice president of operations and was promoted to chief operations officer in 2009. Prior to Huntsville, he worked as utilities director for the city of Shelby, N.C., and as public works and utilities director for the city of Newton, N.C.

Larry Holloway, operations manager for the Kansas Power Pool in Wichita, Kan., has been promoted to assistant general manager of operations. Holloway joined KPP in 2009 after working as chief of energy operations for the Kansas Corporation Commission. He is a member of the Markets and Operations Policy Committee of the Southwest Power Pool.

Jerry Pita, Jr., journeyman lineworker for Keys Energy Services in Key West, Fla., will retire after 30 years and 11 months with the utility. Pita joined the City Electric System in 1983 before it was renamed KEYS. He worked in numerous positions during his time at the utility, including auxiliary operator and tree trimmer.

Debra J. Healy, business manager for the Wellesley Municipal Light Plant in Wellesley Hills, Mass., has been promoted to assistant director. James W. Verner, assistant superintendent for the utility, has been promoted to electric superintendent. Healy joined WMLP in 1995; Verner in 1984.

Sandra Walters, environmental, planning and communications consultant and resident of Shark Key, Fla., has been appointed to the Keys Energy Services Utility Board in Key West, Fla. 

Arnold R. Singleton, project manager for POWER Engineers, Inc., has been named vice president of administration for the Santee Cooper Board of Directors in Moncks Corner, S.C.

Linda Gott William S. Orser



Linda Gott, commissioner for the Mason County Public Utility District No. 3 in Shelton, Wash., has been named to a four-year term on the executive board of Energy Northwest in Richland, Wash. William S. Orser has been re-appointed to a new four-year term on the executive board. Their new terms begin June 17. Gott was first appointed to Energy Northwest’s board of directors in 2007 and elected vice president in 2011. She has been a commissioner for Mason County PUD 3 since 1999. Orser was first elected to Energy Northwest’s executive board in 2010.

Bilee Cauley, reporter of decisions for the Alabama appellate courts, and Luverne, Ala., Mayor Joe Rex Sport both received the President’s Award from the Alabama Municipal Electric Authority during the joint action agency’s Power Supply Conference in Point Clear, Ala. The award honors those who have made significant contributions to AMEA’s establishment. "Bilee and Mayor Sport are true AMEA pioneers," said AMEA President and CEO Fred Clark.
