The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission will convene a workshop on Oct. 2 (12 to 4 p.m., Eastern time) on the feasibility of a two-year process for issuing a license for hydro power development at non-powered dams and closed-loop pumped storage projects in compliance with Section 6 of the Hydropower Regulatory Efficiency Act of 2013. Participants should be prepared to present ideas on the details of a two-year licensing process, to discuss criteria for identifying projects and to recommend potential pilot projects to test a two-year licensing process, the commission said. More information is available on FERC’s website.
