Strategic and crisis communications expert Richard Levick will discuss the skills and strategies that chief executives need to ensure open and effective communications when difficult issues arise, at APPA's 2013 CEO Roundtable. Such issues include sudden outages, higher costs, health and safety concerns, financial pressures, utility takeover attempts and other challenges.

Richard Levick is president and CEO of Levick Strategic Communications, which represents countries and companies in high-stakes global crises and litigation. He is a past director of American University’s School of Public Affairs Leadership Program and a former professor of crisis communications in the graduate school at Georgetown University.

The CEO Roundtable will also feature geo-strategy analyst Michael Moran on the economic future and the future of American power; and water policy expert Robert Glennon on America’s water crisis and the energy-water nexus.

The meeting is open exclusively to officials of APPA member utilities, joint action agencies and state and regional associations.

The 2013 CEO Roundtable will be held Feb. 24-26 at the Arizona Biltmore hotel in Phoenix, Ariz.
