APPA is offering a DEED Webinar: Meet Zilowatt: Free Tools for Conservation Education in your Community's Schools, on Dec. 13 from 2 to 3 p.m., Eastern time.

The webinar will feature a set of lessons and tools that were designed, built and demonstrated with Palo Alto Utilities in California to support energy education and conservation behavior change initiatives at local schools.

The Zilowatt program was designed to be a low-cost, self-serve alternative to hiring an energy management company or developing a program from scratch using free resources on the web. It can be used by teaching staff and school volunteers on its own or as a complement to other efficiency or conservation initiatives. To make the program attractive to teachers and students, care was taken to make it a fun and engaging set of easy to use, hands-on learning experiences.

This webinar will be offered at no charge to members of APPA's DEED (Demonstration of Energy-Efficient Developments) program. For those who are not members of DEED, the registration fee is $89 for APPA members and $179 for non-members.

The speakers will be
Bruce Lesch, key account representative for Palo Alto Utilities
and Al Yuen, managing director, Zilowatt.

For more information about the webinar or to register, see the APPA website. For more information about the Zilowatt program, see www.zilowatt.org.
