Voting & Policy Meetings
Two important meetings are held annually at the National Conference: the Legislative and Resolutions Committee Meeting, and the Association Business Meeting. Each regular Association member (utility, joint action agency or state/regional association) is eligible to designate one employee or governing board member to serve as the organization's voting delegate at each of these meetings. You may name one person to be the voting delegate for both of these meetings, or you may designate different people to vote at each meeting.

Legislative & Resolutions Committee
Sunday, June 18 ▪ 2 – 4 p.m.
Twice a year, members of the Association's Legislative and Resolutions Committee meet to propose and vote on new policy resolutions. Each member utility may designate one voting delegate. Resolutions passed by the L&R Committee and adopted at the Association Business Meeting will guide the Association’s advocacy efforts for the coming year.
Association Business Meeting
Tuesday, June 20 ▪ 4:30 p.m.
- American Public Power Association Board Chair's Report
- Approval of minutes of the 2016 Business Meeting
- Association Treasurer's report
- Election of Association Board of Directors
- Presentation of plaques to outgoing Board members
- Consideration of policy resolutions
- Other business
Voting delegates at the American Public Power Assocation's annual Business Meeting will elect members of the Association's board of directors, and will discuss and vote on the policy resolutions adopted by the L&R Committee (including those resolutions passed by the L&R Committee in February at the Legislative Rally).
The meeting will also feature reports from the board chair and treasurer. Each regular member (utility, joint action agency or state/regional association) may designate one voting delegate for the business meeting.
Conference attendees should designate if they are representing their utility as the voting delegate or alternate when they register. If you have any questions about the Business Meeting, please contact Jeff Haas.
