Webinar Description:

An investment in AMI yields so much more than faster and more accurate meter reads. Customers want fewer outages, and the analytical data collected from the AMI system enables a utility to identify areas of the distribution grid that are aging or at risk and take action before a failure. An advanced metering system also modernizes the interaction with customers, enabling such enhancements as an LCD display on the meter, the ability to adjust usage based on real-time rate data, and alerts via text messaging and social media.

This webinar will cover how public power utilities are using AMI systems to unlock the data collected by electricity, gas and water meters to improve system reliability, enhance operational efficiency, extend customer service, conserve energy and reduce environmental impacts.

Pat Corrigan, Vice President—Public Utilities, Elster Solutions

Karen St. Clair, Assistant IT Manager, Columbia Power & Water Systems, Columbia, Tenn.
